The cavemen are rolling over in their graves. They had to stalk an animal, (sometimes for days) spear the animal, gut the animal, cut the animal into hundreds of pieces, start a friction fire, and then smoke the meat. All before they could enjoy a nice bit of jerky. Anyone reading this article could drive 5 minutes any direction and gorge themselves on the stuff for a pittance.
Unfortunately we don't, and it's a shame. Beef jerky is pure protein, and lasts for weeks. This is what the early settlers ate. Have we forgotten our roots? Beef jerky is a delicious way to maintain your energy/lean body mass while simultaneously carrying out difficult tasks. (Like showering, dancing, hiking, slip-n-sliding, fending off SNAKES ON A PLANE, or shoveling cement.)
Eating beef jerky also helps to develop a powerful set of jaw muscles. Pick up some beef jerky today, and show your friends that "Pringles" are for wusses. If you really want to get serious about your beef jerky, you should get a recipe and try making it yourself. You can make jerky out of any meat...so give it a shot!
