TheKeyLime.com interviewed Kim Jong-Il after taking this picture. The following portion of the interview relays a good deal about Jong Il's love of deep-sea fishing, and his strategy for fishing success.

t.k.l.: "I understand that you spent a lot of time fishing off the coast of Ch'ongjin as a youth...Is that correct?"
KJ: "That's right!" (laughs) "I had many great deep-sea fishing expeditions as a young lad...mainly in pursuit of shark, dolphin, whale, and octopus. Fishing has always tickled my fancy."
t.k.l.: "Did you do a lot of fishing with your father?
KJ: "Oh Yes, he was a great fisherman; as salty as they get! He could will the sea to do his bidding, and could summon fish straight to the boat. I learned a lot from him."
t.k.l.: "It sounds like it. But that brings up a good question: Is it true that in North Korea you have outlawed fishing for shad? Why?"

KJ: "Shad is a fish that is primarily eaten by democratic swine."
t.k.l.: "What about whiting or herring??"
KJ: "I can't speak knowledgeably on those particular species, but would imagine them to be inclined a bit more towards an Ayn Rand Libertarianism."
t.k.l.: "Are you a student of Ayn Rand? - an Objectivist, perhaps?"
KJ: "I enjoy Hennessy, to be quite honest. Occasionally I'll enjoy a Sake Bomb or two - or even a "Nog"-a-sake! You know, my birth was foretold by a swallow, heralded by a double rainbow over the mountain, and ushered in with the appearance of a new star in the heavens!...(withering stare)..."
t.k.l.: "Wow. That's really something. How's your family?"
KJ: "They are doing as well as I allow."

Shortly after this interview, Kim Jong-Il gathered up his seven meerkats (Spanky, Zipper, Tank, Shiloh, Glenn, Barron and Sandy) and had a fish-fry. He invited all of his subordinates and shared his spoils. Most people present at the fry were surprised to see how kind and generous he is. His daily bottle of Paradis really helps his unrivaled philanthropic spirit shine through."
