Hurricane Poetry

(Mainly Haiku)

Please enjoy our cyclone-based poems, and write us if you come up with one, too! (It can be any poetic form you choose) :)

Evacuation

People scared silly.
Caravans of S.U.V's.
I'm going to stay home.

Refugee

What should we give to
a city with no morals?
Prepaid credit cards!

Hurricane Party

My reckless neighbors
partied during the last storm.
Keg stands in the wind.

August 29, 2005, 6:10 am, When Katrina hit New Orleans

It was a sad day
When Katrina made landfall
San Diego Lost

Ray Nagin

Chocolate New Orleans?
Katrina has made landfall
and you are clueless.

Storm Surge

If you make me mad
My anger will engulf you
A storm surge of pain.

The Weather Channel

Swashbuckling bad-ass
Hurricanes are his forte
He's Jim Cantore.

Category 5

Bring the noise, my friend
Bring on your powerful waves;
I'll bring my surfboard.
